What is School-Based Mental Health?
A School-Based Mental Health Program (SBMH) is like having a mental health office inside a school. A range of services are available and provided by licensed, clinical therapists. All services are private and confidential.
Why Have Mental Health Programs in the School?
Children develop coping skills that may prevent them from developing long-term problems
Solution-oriented therapy provides relief from symptoms earlier rather than later, thus improving the quality of life experiences
Improves academic performance and personal relationships with family and friends
Eliminates barriers to accessing these services by making them available in the school
What services are offered?
Universal Supports (all students):
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
Social skill and behavior functioning screenings
Teacher Education and Positive Parenting Courses
Warhawk Time, a time to build connections and relationships with peers and school staff
Selected Intervention (by request/need):
Small group skill-building opportunities
Peer Mentors or Buddy Program
Check-In/Check-Out (CICO)
Intensive Individualized Services (by request/need):
Individual skill-building sessions
Individual therapy provided by a licensed therapist
Individualized behavior plans/interventions

Who are the Licensed Therapists?
We are excited to work with the Lake Geneva Wellness Clinic and Professional Services Group (PSG). Their services are offered within our school building during school hours for you or your children to access. They also schedule appointments after school hours at their offices.
