Happy 100th Day of School, Warhawks!

On World Read Aloud Day, Wheatland students loved guest readers visiting their classrooms, including Mrs. Horton, Mr. McGinley, and Mrs. Biehn! We also celebrated Global School Play Day by exploring our creativity, problem-solving skills, and social interactions as we engaged in play.

Last week, Wheatland students broke through this end-of-January gray and gloom with colorful parachute games, evidence-based argumentation, hands-on sensory experiences, acrobatic cheer routines, adapted basketball tools, engaging community education activities, and more!

Thank you to all of the families who braved the fog this past Thursday for our family STEAM night! We had a great time designing tree houses and forts in conjunction with author Leah Gilbert's visit to Wheatland.

7/8 PATHS students did a phenomenal job today presenting their projects at STEMForward's Future City competition at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Explaining and fielding questions about your future city plan with engineers, city planners, and business owners is no easy task! Great work from these brave and inspiring students! #wcsflight

Wheatland students loved their adventures in the first snowfall of 2024! Although it has been too cold to enjoy the extra inches that fell over the weekend, we turned the chill into thrill as students continue to explore winter through thematic writing, math stations, STEAM challenges, and more! We've also been taking advantage of fun indoor activities that get us moving while staying warm, including basketball, scavenger hunts, creative play, and even a 4K indoor "skating rink"! ⛸️❄️🧊

Ms. Amy Schneider helps melodies flourish and talents bloom as she teaches lessons of music, harmony, and rhythm! As Wheatland's 4K-6th grade music teacher, she gives students space and activities to explore sounds, beats, and movement in music. She puts lots of time and effort into practicing with students for each song, speaking part, and element of choreography. Did you spot any of our mischievous teacher elves on the loose this morning? They "passed through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly-twirly gumdrops" to greet students with joy and excitement at the beginning of the school day! #wcsflight
